What You Need #
You can trade on HootDex using either your Pecu Wallet or MetaMask. Additional ERC‑20 compatible wallets will be supported in the future.
Using the Pecu Wallet (Recommended) #
HootDex does not include its own wallet, and because it is built for the Pecu Novus blockchain, the Pecu Wallet is the preferred option.
- Visit https://www.pecunovus.net and create your wallet.
- After logging in, open the left panel and select “My Keys.”
- Copy your Access Code — this is your passport to HootDex and enables simple onboarding and wallet management.
As with any decentralized wallet, secure your seed phrase and private keys in safe physical and offline locations. Never share your private key, access code, or seed phrase with anyone.
Using MetaMask #
(Note: You still need a Pecu Wallet to trade on HootDex.)
If you do not already have an ERC‑20 compliant wallet, you can download MetaMask at https://www.metamask.io.
- Install the MetaMask browser extension.
- Create a new wallet and securely store your secret recovery phrase.
- Anyone with access to your private key or seed phrase can access your assets, so keep this information protected.
Onboarding Assets #
USDT, USDC, ETH, and BTC can be swapped for PECU or USXM to onboard to HootDex. This is a one‑way swap — once you acquire PECU or USXM, they cannot be swapped back into the assets used to onboard.
How to Onboard to HootDex #
- Go to www.hootdex.net
- Click “Connect Wallet.”
- Connect using MetaMask or enter your Pecu Wallet Access Code.
Once connected:
- Pecu Wallet users: You’re ready to trade immediately.
- MetaMask and other ERC‑20 wallet users: Swap your supported assets (USDC, USDT, ETH, BTC, etc.) for PECU or USXM to begin trading.
After completing the swap, you’re all set — happy trading!
